Autumn Breeze Stables offers trips for riders with all experience levels, from those who have never ridden to proficient riders. Our experienced guides and well-mannered horses ensure a safe, comfortable ride. We provide instructions on how to control your horse and understand their natural instincts. To protect horses, our limits include a minimum age of 6 for short half-hour rides and a maximum rider weight limit. Age limits are higher for longer rides.

We offer year-round horse rides, and booking is essential. With our location on Cheat Mountain, the elevation of trail rides varies between 3,300 and 4,850 feet. The climate is relatively cool, with the average summer daytime temperatures ranging between 64 and 71 degrees Fahrenheit. Fall is considered the best time to enjoy the beautiful trails and scenery; the cooler nights at this time mean fewer mosquitoes.
What Should I Wear and Bring for the Ride?
When booking horseback rides, note adventures continue irrespective of the weather. The only exceptions are extreme cold, high winds or thunderstorms. We recommend long pants to prevent chafing and a shirt or blouse that doesn’t restrict your movement. Wear closed sturdy shoes, bring along a jacket, and layer your clothing as the weather changes quickly. Avoid cotton and choose wool or fleece, as these keep their insulation qualities even when damp. Wear a hat or a riding helmet.
